Summer is almost here and I know many of us are gearing up for vacations. There are so many good body shimmers on the market and last year Rihanna changed the game when she dropped Fenty Beauty’s Body Lava. This year Riri’s at it again, so I decided to do a body lava review and review a few other. If you wanted to know how Body Lava compares to the other body shimmers and oils on the market, you’ve come to the right place. Below is my rundown on the Best Body Oils for the Summer.
NARS Manoi Body Glow went on super smooth and wasn’t sticky at all. It had a light coconut smell that was fragrant without being overpowering. When it comes to the shimmer, Manoi Body Glow keeps it minimal and unfortunately didn’t really show up on my dark skin. If you’re looking for a subtle shimmer with a subtle scent NARS has the perfect product. However, if you want a little bit more shimmer and shine keep reading.
Tom Ford’s Soleil Blanc Shimmering Body Oil smells like vacation, will make you want to book a vacation, and will make you look like you just got off vacation. Can you tell I love this stuff? While Soleil Blanc Shimmering Body Oil is a on the high end for body shimmers it is well worth it’s price (and they now offer a mini size!). It smells amazing and the shimmer gold and platinum leaf looks amazing on the body. Because it comes as a spray can spray it onto your body directly or spray it onto your hands and then apply it to your body. My ONLY complaint is the shimmer gets everywhere. But there’s nothing wrong with leaving a little glitter everywhere you go lol
Moroccanoil’s Shimmering Body Oil was not my favorite. This body oil didn’t really show up on my skin, so if you have tan or dark skin it may not show up on you either. However if you have fair skin it may work. I also wasn’t really a fan of the scent, although some reviewers say it smells amazing mine smelled a little chemically. Out of all the body oil’s and body shimmers I tried Moroccanoil Shimmering Body Oil was the one I’m least likely to buy again.
Last but not least is Fenty Beauty’s Body Lava. It comes in three colors; “Who Needs Clothes?” “Trophy Wife” and “Brown Sugar,” cute right? I got Brown Sugar because I thought it would look best on my skin. Not only did it look amazing but it smelled amazing. If you want visible glitter and shine this is your girl. I’ve heard some people complain that Body Lava was sticky but I didn’t have that experience. I applied it directly with my hands and had no issue. The only issue I have with Body Lava is it gets all over everything. Unfortunately, the bronze color of the body lava transferred and left bronze streaks on cream sheets. Very very annoying.
