Sunday Riley Review

I’ve never been one to take skin care as seriously as I should. I spent my early twenties going to sleep in a face full of makeup never suffered any serious consequences. But with an impending wedding and the second anniversary of my 25 birthday around the corner (yikes!) I decided I need to start doing better. I had been wanting to try Sunday Riley’s products for quite some time. In particular I really wanted to try the Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil.

When I saw that Sephora had a Sunday Riley Skincare Set with the Luna Sleeping Night Oil I knew I had to order it. Hopefully, this Sunday Riley Review will be the first of many skin care reviews on my blog. My first order, which I placed online, was a dud. The C.E.O. C + E Micro-Dissolve Cleansing Oil broke in the box and leaked all over the other products. Luckily when I went to return my first Sunday School Set I was able to pick up a new one. I purchased the Sunday Riley Sunday School Skincare Set and it came with with four sample sized products; the C.E.O. C + E Micro-Dissolve Cleansing Oil,  C.E.O. C + E antiOXIDANT Protect + Repair Moisturizer, Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment, and the Luna Sleeping Night Oil (not pictured). I think the samples are a great size and will get you at least two months of consistent use.

Luna Retinol Sleeping Night Oil: As I already mentioned, I was most excited to try the Luna Retinol Sleeping Night Oil. Luna Sleeping Oil is a retinol oil that should increase plumpness and decrease the appearance of wrinkles, redness, and pores. The product is also helps achieve a more evened skin tone. I have a few light blemishes I’ve been trying to get rid of and I thought the Luna Sleeping Night Oil could help.

The oil has an usual but pleasant smell and although it’s blue it goes on clear. Even though I primarily bought the kit to try this product, I wasn’t really a fan. I have naturally oily skin and this product made me feel greasy. Most importantly I didn’t think the oil did much for my skin. I eventually lost it after about a month of use.(And,  unfortunately, I lost it before I could take pictures for my blog lol).

C.E.O. Vitamin C + E Cleansing Oil: The C.E.O. Vitamin C + E Cleansing Oil, is supposed to be used to dissolve makeup and “pollution” (their word not mine) from the skins surface. It has a weird smell and when I used it on a bare face I honestly didn’t feel like it did anything for my skin. I occasionally still use it but I probably wouldn’t purchase it again.

I wasn’t impressed with the C.E.O. C + E Micro-Dissolve Cleansing Oil and the Luna Sleeping Night Oil, I had better luck with the other products in the set. However, the C.E.O. C + E antiOXIDANT Protect + Repair Moisturizer and Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment may have become holy grails.

C.E.O Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream: is for dry skin, fine lines, and wrinkles. The moisturizer has a pleasant fragrance and is very moisturizing without being too oily. The C.E.O Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream is the only product that I have used every day (and night)  since I’ve purchased the Sunday Riley Sunday School Skincare Set. I think it’s a great product and I highly recommend it if you’re in the market for a moisturizer.

Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment: The Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment was my favorite product  in the entire set. I could see and feel the effect it was having on my skin. The Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment remedies dullness, dark spots, wrinkles and fine lines. It can be applied as a moisturizer or as a mask. I used it as a moisturizer every day at night.

The product slightly stings so, it may be a little too much for sensitive skin but, I kind of liked the sting. It made me think the product was working! lol The product claims to improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles three minutes after use. I felt like I did notice a slight effect minutes after using but more importantly and I woke up with brighter skin every morning. I should note that is product did not do much for my blemishes and I’m still on the search for a product that will get rid of those.

Over all I was pleased with my first Sunday Riley experience. I believe the set was worth the money and Sephora has so many other great sets like the Superstars Kit if you’re interested in trying Sunday Riley products for less. I plan on buying both the Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment and the C.E.O. C + E antiOXIDANT Protect when my samples have run out.

I hope this Sunday Riley Review was helpful! There are so many good skin care products out there I think it’s always great to be able to read a review before you commit to purchasing any of them. If you have any questions on the Sunday Riley products I tried please drop them in the comments below!

I’m so glad I read your review! I’ve been eyeing some of these products for awhile. I’ve always been blessed with clear and great skin but now that I’m in my late 20s, I feel like years of sleeping in my makeup, not drinking enough water, and not investing in quality products are starting to show. I look forward to your future skin care reviews!
I think I’m going take advantage of the Peter Thomas Roth LDW sample sale & stock up on some small trial/travel size products!

I’m glad my review was helpful! I love how Sephora puts a few different products in a set, so you can get a good feel for what you like and don’t like before making a big financial investment. I might check out the Peter Thomas Roth products next!

Ha! Sleeping with makeup used to be my motto. I used to be so lazy to take it off. I think it’s beginning to show up now I’m older. This brand look awesome!
